Hello, it turns out there are several ways to make money from home as any google search would tell you(I’ve done those searches as well). From my searches I’ve discovered that affiliate marketing seems to be the easiest answer to the question “How to make money from home“. However, as with most things it brings us to how to begin, where to begin, what’s the easiest that isn’t a scam or a total waste of your time. There is so much info on the subject it’s hard to know where to begin and what is good information and what is bad. So let me try to help you with some of that information.
What is affiliate marketing
Simply put it is connecting an audience with something they want or desire. As an affiliate marketer you don’t have products to sell. Inventory to keep. Shipping to contend with. Your job is to connect and audience (people) to something they are already looking for. You don’t need to go find a product to sell, that’s actually a very bad way to start. You should think of something that you passionate about, that you believe in and build your business around that. For me it is helping people replace their job and stop trading their time for money. Time is one of the few things that we can’t replenish.
Let me repeat that Time is one of the few things we can’t replenish.
You can be an affiliate of 99% of the brands in the world
Pretty much any major company in the world has an affiliate program. Etsy, eBay, Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy (and 10,000’s of others) all have affiliate programs. So you can find a product or service that you believe in and build your business around that. You can have many offers if you have the passion and motivation to do so. That’s what great about affiliate marketing, you have unlimited potential. Which, is another reason it seems to be the best way to make money from home.
The 4-Steps to a Starting a Successful Affiliate Marketing Business
These are the 4 steps to becoming and affiliate marketer. Very straightforward and to the point. There are offers (A.K.A) companies that can make it easier and guide you on that journey. In my time searching for financial freedom I’ve found a couple that I know work. They both have an amazing support system and all the training you need to succeed as an affiliate marketer.
More on that in a minute. Let’s start with the 4
Step 1: How to choose an idea/interest
This is actually fairly easy. Choose a passion that you have. Something that you believe in, that moves you. We will call this your “niche” There are going on almost 5 billion people online now, so there is pretty much a substantial audience for everything. Some offers even help with this as well.
Step 2: Build a Website
A website is in fact is your real estate online. So if you want to do business online this is something that you’re going to need to have. It’s what you should think of as your “storefront” in the online world. It’s where you can connect, communicate and promote products and or services to your audience. If you don’t have a website (even a simple one that usually do better than complicated ones) then you won’t be able to succeed with an online business. It is a necessity that you will need for long term success however it doesn’t cost much to buy your online real estate. Many can be bought for less than $20 per year. That’s less than what most of us spend on coffee in a month.
Step 3: Get an Audience.
In the online world your website is where your audience will go. Without them coming to your website you can’t make money. So how do you get an audience?
Traffic (your audience) can come in from many sources. You can advertise to a very targeted audience for money and the amounts vary. You can spend as little as $80 or less a month or go with the $5 a day or much more if available. However, there are other options. The most sustainable, long term traffic method is through search engine optimization ( SEO). It requires more effort that you must put in but you will benefit if you are willing. I would recommend it for everyone but I believe the absolute most important step is to get started. Progress from there. There is an audience that is looking for you. There are many other ways you can get traffic to your website as you build it out. Social media channels, YouTube and video blogging, podcasts. The biggest challenge is to take the first step, it’s typically the hardest!
Step 4: Make Money.
Last but no least, the “make money” part of your business. This is where you earn money through affiliate programs. Basically there are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer, in exchange for a commission. You will be adding these special links on your website from companies like Amazon, Etsy, Nike, Apple, eBay, etc…and you will then earn a “kickback” if someone goes from your website to theirs and ends up buying something.
The affiliate marketing industry is growing at the fastest pace ever, and affiliates stand to earn $12 BILLION online this year…with this growing even more next year. You can get your chunk of this pie.
How to Accomplish: Finding good affiliate programs can be troublesome at best. Typically you have to do a bunch of research to try and find what you’re looking for. That can take a significant amount of time. I would never say don’t research but with help you can research certain affiliate programs that I personally know work. They both have an amazing support system and a family type of community that wants you to succeed. They are very highly ranked on Trustpilot. Do your research and if one or both inspire you then take the first step but be committed to it first. If you are not committed then you shouldn’t start. Because to succeed in this line of work you have to learn some new skills and in the beginning it might take a few hours a day, however if you stick with it you will spend less time working on it because you will be proficient in the skills that make it easy and much less time consuming.
So here we are, you have the outline on how to start an affiliate marketing business. What it is and how it works. I’m giving you the 2 that I believe in and know that work but you don’t have to choose either. These are just a couple of options out of what may be many but these are ones that I trust, believe and know will help you succeed.
